Review of the TV series "Mafia Doctor" (The Mob doctor)

For the majority of physicians, the Hippocratic oath is sacred and inviolable. But for a Chicago doctor who has a special score to settle with the mafia, saving his life is not his only concern. The Mob doctor series is a fast–paced medical drama that is gaining an increasing audience with each episode.

The series tells the story of a female surgeon who is stuck between two worlds – between her career as a surgeon in a clinic and a family debt to the Chicago mafia. Dr. Grace Devlin (Jordana Shapiro) is a senior specialist at the Roosevelt Medical Center in Chicago. A confident professional, she claims to be the most promising surgeon in the country.

But her family ties keep her on Chicago's south shore. In order to pay off her brother's gambling debts, Dr. Grace makes a deal with the mafia and agrees to work with them. At the hospital where Dr. Grace works, you have to constantly deal with emotionally intense medical cases.

The series tells the viewer about a young woman who needs a heart transplant, about a devastated family who suffered from the driver of the accident who escaped from the scene, about a large number of victims as a result of an accident on the railway tracks.

But at the same time as fulfilling her daily professional duties, Dr. Grace must also coexist with her other world. A world in which the mafia demands to treat a criminal who is hiding from justice, to carry out operations in illegal shelters where the mafia is hiding, or to urgently treat a "call girl".

Dr. Grace is obliged to keep quiet about her collaboration with the mafia and keep everything a secret. Secretly from her friend, the employee and nurse Rosa, from her boyfriend, from her boss, the employee, and even her brother and mother, with whom she is not on very good terms.
Meanwhile, the murderer Konstantin is released from prison, trying to regain his leading position in the Chicago mafia with the help of his henchmen, as well as Grace's ex–boyfriend Franco.

Trying to be present in two worlds at the same time, Dr. Grace is trying to establish relations with his not entirely prosperous family. She cannot tame the unacceptability of the immorality that is taking place, but somehow it all has to work, at least for now.
